Live Review: Ugly Kid Joe, Don Valley Stadium, 6th June, 1993

Bouncing on stage with "Neighbour," America's least wanted quickly become Don Valley's most welcome. Vocalist Whitfield Crane is the ace in their pack. Within three songs he'd already visited the masses in the front rows, thrown himself manically across the stage, and song while hanging from the scaffolding high above the boards.

"Disney-land," "Come Tom-orrow," and the ode to OZZY, "Sweet Leaf," each bring home that this is all about fun. Unfortunately ROB HALFORD doesn't appear for their piece-de-resistance "God-Damn Devil," but when "Everything About You" kicks in no one cares. It's a mass sing along with little restraint. "Cats in the Cradle" wound up a show fuelled by a sense of enjoyment that won over many a sceptic. Dude.
