Album Review: Blind Melon, "Blind Melon"

I really don't believe I can do this album justice. Why? Well, BLIND MELON play a quirky, eclectic menagerie of tunes, and on the listens I've been afforded, I still haven't got my head around the whole vibe created on this, their debut.

It would be easy for me to sit here and tell you that there's a JANE'S ADDICTION thing happening, but that would be pigeon-holing a band that touch on so many more bases.

It would be easy to dissect each cut individually, pinpointing each influence, whether it be borne out of psychedelia, Seattle, or just plain old eccentricity. Like I say, I've yet to get my head around Blind Melon but the fact that they've failed to make a concrete impression is a cause for concern.
