THE ALMIGHTY know only one route - the direct one. If there's a jugular to aim at, then they're there with such ferocity that victims were visibly quaking after the opening bars of "Taking Hold of my Belief." Ricky Warwick and Co ain't pussyfooting around today.
They know that, as last minute replacements for ALICE IN CHAINS, they've a lot to prove, but prove it they do with a display of power and style fitting the occasion.
If last year's Donnington opening was an affirmation of their quality, then the latest Powertrippin' album has beefed up the set list, fitting their live aggression perfectly.
They may still need a few dates to hone their stagecraft for such huge gigs, but for the majority of their performance The Almighty were "Wild and Wonderful," and many a punter was "fuckin' lovin' it."
