JACK SPEED LIGHTNING!
The fact that they've been away so long pales into insignificance when a Confederate packed T&C greet LYNYRD SKYNYRD's intro like the second coming.
"Smokestack Lightning" from the 1991 album launches proceedings, but despite what anyone might tell you it's the old stuff most have paid their money for. Skynyrd don't disappoint. Like a ravenous lion, the band stalk the crowd, apparently aimlessly, while awaiting the kill.
With a total of four guitars stuck up here nostrils, "Saturday Night Special," "Gimme Three Steps," "That Smell," and "Call Me the Breeze" redecorate the ceiling with your grey matter. "Sweet Home Alabama" gives voice to the choir, but it's the ultimate encores, what else but "Free Bird," that brings the venue to its foundations (sic).
A great evening, now how about a festival appearance? I can just visualise those Confederate flags swirling in the summer breeze!
