Album Review: Danger Danger, "Screw It"

US five-piece DANGER DANGER are Epic's big hope for new band on the '92 rock scene. Following their debut show at the Astoria, London, and the release of a single, "Monkey Business," this, their first UK release, although their second album, hits the streets jam-packed with 16 tracks produced by the band themselves. This album serves as a good introduction to a band many believe may be the next EXTREME and throws up a few surprises along the way!

Danger danger have toured extensively, in support of acts like KISS, ALICE COOPER, WARRANT, and Extreme, and the latter even appear on Screw It's hilarious rap tune, "Yeah You Want It," accompanied by the unlikely pairing of US porn star Ginger Lynn on moans and groans.

The band's sense of humour prevails throughout the album, as does their obsession with sexuality, with titles like "Slipped Her the Big One" and "Horny Son of a Bitch", which is apparently an autobiographical song about the drummer Steve West!

Throughout the album the band display their respective skills to best effect, and with a mixture of supercharged anthems, colourful instrumental breaks, and heart rending ballads, you're left in no doubt whatsoever that all that time on the road has paid off. Power rock numbers such as "Monkey Business" and "Crazy Nights" are great showcases for the group's harmony vocals, Ted Poley's vocals and Andy Timmons fretboard skills.

Danger Danger's debut album has been selling well here on import, so they already have a fan base waiting for this album. Bearing that in mind, and the fact that they have a reputation as a blinding live act, this release should see them make the leap from obscurity into the 'big guns' pond.
