Album Review: Grant Lee Buffalo, "Fuzzy"

Not a mere man, Grant Lee Buffalo are indeed a band hailing form the US of A who offer an eclectic mixture of styles held together under one umbrella titled Fuzzy.

The Shining Hour begins proceedings in Waterboys territory, Wish You Well features an uplifting Elton-John-styled chorus, and my particular pick Dixie Drug Store kinda reminds me of a Lou Reed tale. These comparisons are not meant to be detrimental however as the Buffalo's acoustic fueled times are compelling in their own right.

These comparisons are not meant to be detrimental, however, as the Buffalos' acoustic-fuelled tunes are compelling in their own right. America Snoring in particular points some barbed fingers at their government. Fuzzy on the whole is slightly melancholic, but strangely uplifting. Grade B
