The Sex Pistols' First TV Appearance 1976

The Sex Pistols' notorious appearance on the Bill Grundy show in December 1976, amid a tirade of four-letter headlines, will go down in history as one of the most incendiary moments on British television — but it was on Granada TV's lesser-known "So It Goes" on the 28th August 1976 that the band were formally introduced to the British TV public. Hosted by the then-TV personality Tony Wilson, soon-to-be owner of Factory Records, the Pistols launched into a stirring rendition of "Anarchy in the UK".
