Shipping Steel is a classic track by Australian hard rockers Cold Chisel from their 1979 album Breakfast at Sweethearts. The song is a perfect example of the band's working class ethos, expressed in the lyrics and exemplified by the chunky, percusive guitar playing of Ian Moss and the dynamic, gritty singing of Glasgow-born Jimmy Barnes. Written by Don Walker, the band's keyboardist and main songwriter, the song is intruduced by Barnes as a "truck driving song."
