"This is a journey into sound" runs the intro into ANTHRAX's latest album, and the statement doesn't lie. With ex-ARMOURED SAINT vocalist John Bush, the band have found a voice which is far more becoming their style. His deeper, more fear-infected delivery adds a new twist to the might of Anthrax's riff-hungry power.
"Only" and "Room For One More" gravitate from meaty mosh hooks whereas "Black Lodge," inspired by the Twin Peaks series, harbours a far more sinister undercurrent.
If The Sound of White Noise proves anything about the band, it's that they've evolved into a vastly more dynamic outfit. And I didn't mention Scott Ian once. Damn!
