After the success of To Be With You it would be easy for Mr. Big to follow a formula. With Bump Ahead any comparisons must rest on the precipice they walk between mainstream commerciality and loud heavy metal indifference, a formula of sorts. While rampant rockers a la Colorado Bulldog and Price You Gotta Pay are more in key with their musical roots. It's ballads like Promise Her The Moon, Nothing But Love, and Wild World that'll, after repeated plays, have you humming. Mr. Big may have a somewhat 'corporate' sheen but with Bump Ahead they have another hit on their hands.
