Video Review: Velvet Revolver, "Live In Houston"

Live memoir of the best contemporary rock collective of the past 20 years. The substantially talented, Scott Weiland-fronted Velvet Revolver (who iconically peaked in 2005 with the Grammy Award-winning Contraband) are here, in all their digital glory, dripping with sweat and irony, distinctive individuals giving it the high-five and gorging on the spotlight for a brief moment in time.

Live In Houston is gleaned predominantly from that Number 1 album, but dips into the disparate repertoires of GN'R and Stone Temple Pilots. Paradoxically though Sex Type Thing and Crackerman, like shabby artists on an underground train, sit comfortably next to the Saturday night sleaze-rockers, It's So Easy, Set Me Free and Used To Love Her, both ably brought together by VR's own hybrid, Slither and the psychedelic jamming of Illegal I. Simply... Rock N' Roll'!
