Preview: Rattlesnake Kiss

Birmingham's hottest new rock act, RATTLESNAKE KISS, who have been the subject of a number of showcases recently, are reportedly on the brink of a major deal.

Since signing to Linda Bruce Management around 12 months ago they have supported IAN GILLAN on his autumn tour of 1990, played this year's Cumbria Rock Festival, and are tipped to be supporting STATUS QUO at the NEC when they play their charity shows.

The band make a conscious effort to find their own musical identity which can be heard on their demo tapes, which they have produced in the last six months. Although all the band were credited with equal song-writing status,  the focal point of the band and its musical identity is guitarist Ralph Cardell. The line-up is completed with Bill Carroll (rhythm guitar). Steve H (drums), Mark Richardson (bass), and Sean Love on vocals.

Their most recent demo convincingly demonstrates the band's songwriting and arranging versatility. Opening with "Sad Susie," a song which is augmented by a sampled brass section, then comes "Railroad," and the multi-textured "Angel." "Drive" rounds it off in a true rock vein.
